About tradelines

The basics

Why would someone want to buy a tradeline?

Tradelines make up most of a credit report, and everyone wants the best report possible. The basic way to build good credit is to open different types of credit accounts and pay every bill on time. If you keep doing that over time, you should end up with good credit.

By improving the factors that go into a credit score, such as payment history, age and utilization, you could eventually even reach a perfect 850.

If you have errors on your credit report, you may want to consider credit repair. We are not a credit repair company.

Starting from behind

Why buy a tradeline if you have bad credit?

Turning bad credit around follows the same process as building good credit: open new credit accounts of different types and pay every bill on time. However, it may take longer to rebuild than it originally took to build, because negative marks stay on your report for years. A tradeline can add positive history in the meantime, but it won’t remove the negatives.

If you have errors on your credit report, consider starting credit repair, either through DIY credit repair techniques or with qualified credit repair professionals.

Note: EzeCreditServices is not a credit repair company. Here’s why.

The mechanism

Why buy a tradeline: how it helps your file

When a cardholder adds you to a credit card as an authorized user, your report doesn’t show the date you were added. Instead, the entire history of the account appears on your credit report, with some exceptions depending on the bank.

Example

For example, if you’re added to a 20-year-old card, your report simply shows a 20-year-old credit card with authorized user status. Scoring algorithms often assume you’ve been on that card for 20 years, and if it has perfect payment history, that’s a nice thing to have on your report.

Several utilization ratios may be at play in the scoring algorithm. Even so, an authorized user tradeline can factor into your overall utilization ratio.

Credit scoring algorithms are secret, so no one knows exactly how they work. As a result, much of what’s known comes from inference, correlation and speculation.

Choosing

Which tradeline should you buy, and why?

Short answer

Only add tradelines that are superior in age and credit limit to what you already have on your credit report.

If you currently have high utilization, higher-limit tradelines may help with your overall utilization ratios.

We don’t guarantee specific results, but we do guarantee that your tradelines will report on your credit report. Every credit report is unique, so use the knowledge and tools we provide to decide which tradelines are best for you.
